When to Book a Maternity Shoot
Maternity shoots can take place anywhere between 28-34 weeks pregnant, but this is all down to your personal preference and how you may be feeling. Any point during your pregnancy is absolutely worth capturing, so throughout the whole process we’ll work around your individual journey.
What to Wear to a Maternity Shoot
My priority is to remove any stress and worry from your session, and one of the ways I do this is by offering you access to my hand picked client closet – this means you’ll be able to choose from a selection of beautiful maternity dresses in all shapes and sizes!
I also offer a style guide upon booking that gives in-depth guidance and inspiration to help you prepare for your session. I want you to feel comfortable and be yourself, while looking and feeling your best.
You’ll also have the option of booking a styling consultation prior to your session to discuss your individual wants and needs.
How to Have a Relaxed Maternity Shoot
I will encourage poses and movements to help you look your best and to ensure you don’t feel uncomfortable – feeling and looking natural is key to authentic images.
My shoots are relaxed, fun and empowering. We will play music, drink tea (decaffinated) and get to know each other so you’ll feel right at home in the studio. I will continue to give gentle instruction and encourage subtle movement to bring some elegance and magic into your images.
What Time of Day is Best for a Maternity Shoot
For indoor maternity sessions, any time of day that works with your schedule is perfect – my Cotswold photography studio is fully equipped to offer you the best possible experience from start to finish.
For location shoots, the light as the sun rises or sets is magical, and I especially recommend these times for maternity and motherhood but we can discuss other times if this doesn’t work for you.
How Long is the Maternity Shoot Session
The session will be for as long as we need. Usually we’ll be able to create magic within the first hour, however we can take as much time you like to celebrate you and the wonderful new chapter you’re starting.
Where Will the Maternity Shoot be Held
Your maternity shoot can be held in my Cotswold photography studio or in a chosen location within Oxfordshire – when the weather is bright and beautiful. However, wherever you choose to have your maternity photoshoot we’ll still capture the most perfect images.
If you’re looking for something more adventurous, visiting a beach, a forest, cliffs, then we can discuss location options a little further afield – travel costs will apply on locations outside of Oxfordshire.
Who can be Involved in the Maternity Shoot
My sessions are all inclusive, from individuals and full family photos, along with siblings, grandparents and even pets, so it’s a wonderful experience for everyone to get involved in! However, if you’d prefer then your session can be an individual shoot, celebrating you and your wonderful bump, or one together with your partner and children.
How Long is the Turn Around Time on Galleries
My turnaround for galleries is usually 2-3 weeks. I try my best to get your images ready for you as soon as possible but I don’t rush the editing process as I take my time to make them perfect for you before I deliver your gallery.
How Many Images Will You Recieve From Your Maternity Shoot
You’ll receive ten beautifully edited digital images, with a choice from a full online viewing gallery and an option to purchase further images.
